Spring Break 2019

Sunday, March 31, 2019

Today I'm sharing a little Spring Break re-cap! Even though our little ladies are only in preschool, or still at home with Mama, we wanted to make this week special for them. Luckily when you have a 5, 3 and 1 year old, it's not too hard to make the day special in their eyes! It's hard to believe that NEXT year Avery will be in Kindergarten and Spring Break will really feel like a break for her. I'm cherishing every last minute of my big girl being home with us, I can't imagine not having her by my side next year!

Monday: On Monday we made a trip to the Lego store, spent some time at an indoor play ground and ate lunch at California Pizza Kitchen, one of our favorites! It was a really seamless adventure, minus the fact that when I went to pay for Starbucks before leaving the mall, I realized I left my ENTIRE diaper bag at the indoor playground... yep, wallet, keys, phone, everything, just sitting at the playground, unattended for 30+ minuntes. Thank goodness for honest people, when I sprinted back to the playground... my diaper bag was right where I left it, I swear I was an extremely organized human being, BEFORE I had three children!

Mom Style: My Favorite Hair Products

Monday, March 25, 2019

Hey Mama's! Let's chat hair products, which actually makes me giggle to even type this because I am the furthest thing possible from a hair "expert," in fact, if you watched me dry my hair I would lose all hair credibility... but, I do want to share some hair products that I keep coming back to!

My hair texture is a bit unique, I have a lot of "fine" hair, which also happens to be naturally curly/wavy and at times can get pretty dry. Within the past year, I rarely wear my hair curly and rely on dry shampoo and hair spray for day 2 and sometimes even day 3 hair. With that being said, I am not one of those blessed ladies who can wear her hair down for day 2 and 3... when I wake up my hair is such a hot mess and the amount of time, energy and heat that I would have to put into styling it to wear it down would be a waste. of. time.

Friday Favorites: March 21st

Friday, March 22, 2019

Happy Friday friends! This week went by SO fast, the little ladies and I were outside as much as possible and it felt SO good. Being able to head outside once Emmy and Isla are up from their naps makes that hard 4:00- 7:00 time frame go by so much faster, plus that fresh air makes the little ladies fall asleep the second their heads hit their pillows!

The girls are on Spring Break next week and we have some really fun things planned to make their week special. We ended up booking one night away in Lake Geneva, one of our very favorite places and can't wait for the family time away. The girls and I will also be spending part of our week baking, crafting and decorating a little bit for Easter, which we always look forward to! Speaking of Spring Break, my very first "favorite" this week includes this week's blog recap and my post on our road trip essentials!

Rainy Day Looks for Girls

Thursday, March 21, 2019

Spring has arrived and my little ladies and I can't wait to head OUTSIDE, even if that means splashing around in a few puddles. My girls LOVE wearing rain boots and I love that they can slip them on and off by themselves! I couldn't help but notice all of the adorable rain jackets, boots and even umbrellas that are out for my little ladies right now. Any of these trios would make the best Easter basket gift too!

I have invested in Hunter boots for my girls and they hold up so well, in fact Isla can probably fit into the first pair that Avery had and that Emmy wore too. Knowing my girls, they would go crazy for the clear glitter rain boots as well, maybe we will have to add a pair to our collection! Which trio is your favorite!?

Let's Chat: Road Trip Essentials

Monday, March 18, 2019

It's almost time for Spring Break around here and I thought it would be the perfect time to show you one of my favorite "Mom hacks." A few months ago I decided we needed something to help us keep our car organized, I of course turned to Amazon Prime and found the Mimmo caddy by Mollie Ollie. I was looking for something that I could store some snacks and activities that the girls could do in the car during road trips or even for the times we are early for preschool pick-up. I should mention, we are the proud owners of a mini-van with a DVD player, however, we do limit the use of the DVD player.

When our caddy isn't packed for a road trip, it's perfect for storing an extra set of clothes, extra diapers and wipes, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, all those little things you may need while out with the kiddos but don't want to weigh down the diaper bag with! I also love that there is a zipper compartment on the side of the caddy, I threw in some first aid supplies like band-aids, Neosporin and even a few essential oil rollers (Stress Away and Thieves to be specific). Overall, the caddy is super sturdy and provides plenty of storage, it's also really light weight and just the right size to store under a captains chair seat. The longer handles make it easy to throw over you shoulder if you wanted to take it with you, I'm thinking of how great it would be to just carry this caddy into your hotel room so your kiddos have some toys to play with during vacation! So many great uses, affordable and the best part of course is that it's PRIME, gotta love that fast shipping, read below to see what Avery and I packed our caddy up with, now we just need to plan a road trip!

Wonderful Wednesday Blog Hop #319

Tuesday, March 12, 2019

Welcome to the Wonderful Wednesday Blog Hop

Welcome to our blog party! Most of you are well-versed in how blog hops work. If you are new to blog hops, though, this simple definition of a blog hop may help. A blog hop is an online event where bloggers share links to their best posts. Guests also come by and look through the list of posts, visiting the ones they like the most. They may find a really great recipe to save or a creative idea (DIY, craft project, home decor, etc) to try, get some money making tips and on and on. You do NOT have to be a blogger to enjoy a blog hop. If you like browsing through magazines, you will love visiting blog hops! Our party features posts that our visitors viewed most the previous week. Here are the ones you visited most LAST week! This time around we had a tie for the "most viewed" category:

Mom Style: Wedding Guest Edt.

I LOVE turning to Instagram and this little space to ask for fashion advice! I feel like my body and overall style has changed so much in the past few years and at this point, I really don't know what I like, or what style looks best on me, or which color, or which trend... you catch my drift! I ordered a TON of dresses to try on for an upcoming wedding and I would love to know which dress is your favorite, should I go with look 1 or look 2!? Cast your vote in my comments and I'll be sure to do a try-on with my side kick Avery when they arrive in the mail!

Look 1: I love the idea of investing in a classic black dress and I'm loving all the tortoise accents! I would only wear the earrings OR grab the clutch, but I think this look would be perfect for a city wedding in Chicago. Also, tall girls, listen up, these Steve Madden shoes are a MUST! I own them in both colors and they are my go-to heels when I need to dress up! I also own the pair of earrings from Amazon and they are awesome, super light weight and make a subtle statement.

Look 2: I have had my eye on that lace dress for the longest time, I think the color and style is SO pretty, I'm just not sure it's the right fit for a city wedding!? However, I think that pretty little green-ish number could definitely work if I wanted to add a pop of color!

So, what do you think!? Look 1 or Look 2, help a mama out and don't forget to follow along with our daily adventures on Instagram

Fun and Easy St. Patrick's Day Activities

Sunday, March 3, 2019

Hey friends! Today I'm going to wrap-up a week of festive St. Patrick's Day posts with some fun and EASY activities you can make or create with your little leprechauns! I found majority of these ideas on Pinterest, take a peek at my board full of St. Patrick's Day fun!

Marshmallow & Pepper Stamping- The little ladies LOVED this one, well honestly, they loved all of these activities, but the marshmallow stamping in particular was a big hit! I started off drawing three circles in a "clover" shape for them to stamp, just a little model on how they could create a clover and Emmy was loving it! Avery was a big fan of stamping the rainbow, I literally used a pencil to make some rainbow lines and she filled in all the colors. I got super lucky and Target had a ton of washable Crayola paint on clearance so I bought every single color they had, I think each one was less then a dollar!? Also, do yourself a favor and buy some of these plastic trays from Amazon, they make cleaning up after art projects SO easy and have a little edge to them, so if anything spills it doesn't go running off the table!

For the marshmallow stamping, the kiddos just dip the marshmallow into the paint (model how to get off some of the excess paint) and stamp away! The pepper was a bit trickier, I cut one green pepper in half, that way the girls would have a decent amount of the pepper to hold on to while stamping. The girls were amazed that it made a clover shape and had a great time stamping all the lucky clovers, we even sprinkled our page with glitter when they were done, yay we went big this time ;)
