Wonderful Wednesday Blog Hop

Welcome to our party! Wow, February is going by quick. Am I the only one who gets caught by surprise? LOL! In keeping with the "time flies when you are having fun" theme, let's get right into our final party for February 2019. Last week's party was fabulous. Here are the posts that you, our readers, viewed most ...

What's Up Wednesday: February 2018

I'm so excited to participate in another What's Up Wednesday, hosted by two of my favorite bloggers Shay at Mix & Match Mama and Sheaffer at Sheaffer Told Me To!

What's Up Wednesday

1: What we are Eating: I am SO happy to be keeping up with our weekly meal plans! This month I've been cooking from Chrissy Teigen's Cravings Cookbook and we have been LOVING the recipes. They have a touch of gourmet flavors to them, but are super manageable and super delicious. I feel like I talk way to much about meatloaf for being a 31 year old, but her Spicy Italian Sausage Meatloaf is the BEST! Also, are you following me on Pinterest? I have fallen in love with "pinning" again and have so many delicious recipes saved on my Recipes: Dinner board, leave your Pinterest username in my comments, I would love to follow you!

St. Patrick's Day Looks and Books

Tuesday, February 26, 2019

Next up in our St. Patrick's Day week of fun are all things GREEN! I can't let you get pinched on St. Patty's Day, here are some of my favorite ways to add a little green to your outfit on St. Patrick's Day!

First up, Mama! There are so many cute and subtle ways to add a little touch of St. Patrick's Day to your outfit, I am especially loving the rainbow stripe trend.

What's Cookin': St. Patrick's Day Popcorn

Sunday, February 24, 2019

Living in Chicago, we can't let St. Patrick's go by without celebrating! As a stay at home Mom, I love celebrating all holidays, big or small, it just makes a normal week a little more exciting. The little ladies and I decided to pop-up some St. Patrick's Day popcorn to enjoy and share with some friends too.

This is such a great recipe to make with your kiddos, there is a lot of sorting involved, which means a lot of different "jobs" your littles can help with and complete independently. You can talk about colors, counting, grouping, all sorts of things while making this delicious recipe. Have fun and most importantly, enjoy this tasty treat!

  • 2 Bags Microwave Popcorn (or 10- 11 c. fresh popped popcorn)
  • Green M&M's (we used Mini, Pretzel and Regular)
  • Rainbow & Leprechaun Marshmallows from Lucky Charms
  • Rainbow Sprinkles
  • Vanilla Bark
  1. Pop popcorn, place on cookie sheet, forming on layer of popcorn, we used two cookie sheets.
  2. Sort green M&M's and Lucky Charms marshmallows.
  3. Add candy and marshmallow mixture to the popcorn on the cookie sheet.
  4. Melt vanilla bark, drizzle over popcorn/candy/marshmallow mixture.
  5. Let cool, use a nonstick spatula to remove from cookie sheet and store in a BIG bowl!
  6. Eat and ENJOY!

Friday Favorites: Top 5 This Week

Friday, February 22, 2019

We had such a great week, I was a little worried we were going to go a little stir crazy with the little ladies having both last Friday and Monday off of school, but we filled the week with some fun little adventures and we are welcoming the weekend with open arms! Happy Fri-yay friends!

1: Cupcake Date with Nana at Barnes & Noble- When I realized the girls had Monday off... yea Mom tip- read your kids school calendar (ha)! I knew it was the perfect opportunity to use gift cards that Avery and Emerson got for their birthdays. Off we went to Barnes & Noble, we of course had to make a stop in the bakery and after that we headed to the children's section. The girls each got to pick out a book and a toy (seriously when did B&N become a mini toy store too!). Avery and I picked up the last Ivy & Bean book and decided to grab a Junie B. Jones book as our next series to read. Emerson picked a Toy Story book and we even grabbed the cutest St. Patrick's Day book to add to our holiday collection. It was the perfect way to get out of the house!

What's Cookin': Meal Plan Week 4

Thursday, February 21, 2019

It's time for a new weekly meal plan and this week I'm all about breakfast for dinner! Is this a favorite at your house? We love planning breakfast for dinner because we know it's something that every single family member will eat, which is a big win! I also love breakfast for dinner because we already have a ton of the ingredients on hand, which makes grocery shopping super easy this week as well. Take a peek at some of the breakfast recipes I'm featuring this week from Chrissy Teigen's Cravings Cookbook!

Mom Style: Swimsuit Edt.

Monday, February 18, 2019

It may just be the fact that I am SO over winter, or that our Disney trip is coming up in May, but I am SO ready to order some swimsuits and cover-ups! This summer will be the first summer in a very long time that I haven't (a) been pregnant (b) nursing or (c) taking care of a newborn. I feel like I finally have my body back to myself, if that makes sense!? I'm ready to up my "Mom" swimsuit game and have my eye on some of these beauties.

1: Cover Up (Amazon) / 2: Sunglasses (Amazon) / 3: Color Block Wrap One Piece (J. Crew) / 4: Wrap One Piece (Old Navy) / 5: Metallic Slides (Old Navy) / 6: Canvas Tote bag (Lands End)

I recently posted some of these suits on my Instagram and loved all the feedback, here are some of the trends I highlighted! I would also love to know your favorite stores for buying swimsuits, my number one requirement is booty coverage! I love some of the Target brands for suits and noticed they re-vamped that line as well, I also have had great luck with JCrew, I tried CupShe last year and the suits are great quality for the price, but the back coverage can be a tad skimpy for me!

Trend 1: High Waisted Two Piece- I don't see myself rocking a bikini at this point, but I really do love the high waisted look. I feel like it would suck everything in and the subtle retro vibe is SO cute! 81% of my followers were loving the high waisted look and I even got the "ok" for that cute ruffled two piece, I'm such a sucker for a cute detail like the poms! I decided to order the first two piece, the pink gingham, fingers crossed that it's cute in person too!

Snyder Family Co. Home: Living Room Refresh pt. 1

Sunday, February 17, 2019

Today I'm sharing a peek inside our living room! This room hasn't gotten much attention since we moved in and this year I would love to add a little more character to this space. It's the first room you see when you walk into our home and I would love to add a little "wow" to the room. One of Scott and I's favorite part about this room when we moved in were the tall ceilings and all the natural light that floods the room, it's such a bright and crisp space. We are planning on working with the existing furniture including the couch, coffee table and two accent chairs, however I think some new end tables and maybe a new TV stand would be nice too, but baby steps!

I'm also seriously considering adding shiplap to the wall that our TV is currently hanging on, I just don't know if I have the guts to do it! What do you think? Should we go for it!?

Small Projects: New Lamp, Fresh Art, New Rug, New Throw Pillow, New Accents
BIG Projects: Shiplap Accent Wall.... and the 80's called and they want their parquet floors back... I feel like by the time we save up the extra cash to re-do our floors, parquet is going to be back in style, ha!

Couch (Macy's- Similar 1 & 2 & 3) / Coffee Table (West Elm) / Rug (Homegoods- Similar
Chairs (Target) / TV Stand (World Market- Similar) / Lamp (Target) / Throw Pillows (Similar Navy & Grey
Storage Baskets (Target) / Fiddle Leaf Fig (Mine is real from COSTCO, here is a good Faux Fiddle Leaf Fig
Fiddle Leaf Basket (Target- Similar)

Friday Favorites: Isla's Birthday & Valentine's Day Edt.

Friday, February 15, 2019

This week I'm counting down our top FIVE moments from the week! It was a big week at our house, sweet Isla Rose turned ONE and we celebrated one of my favorite holidays, Valentine's Day!

ONE: Isla Rose turns one! We spent the day doing all of Isla's favorite things, dance parties to Baby Shark, swimming at the YMCA, tacos for dinner and at least 25 crawls up the stairs, I think it was the perfect way to celebrate our sweet girl, we love her so much! On Monday I also posted "My Wishes" for Isla, you can read that here: Isla Rose is One.

Isla's Strawberry Swimsuit (Target)

"One Donut" Balloons (Etsy

TWO: We LOVE celebrating Valentine's Day, I know it's not for everyone, but I'm all for a day thats all about spreading a little extra love. Bring on the candy, pink, glitter, heart everything, I love it all. Scott woke up early and cooked his ladies pancakes, had flowers waiting for us and even got the girls a few goodies. The girls and I enjoyed one of our favorite activities, Fearless Moms and had one of Avery's friends over for a play date after, it was the perfect afternoon! We ended the day with our annual heart shaped pizza.

Little Lady's Dresses (Target) / Hair Bows (One Stop Bow Shop & Amazon)

THREE: Emmy and Avery started up a new session of gymnastics, Emmy's first time in class by herself! Their two classes run at the same time and are pretty small, so for the first class they combined and it was SO cute to watch them in class together. It gave Emmy so much confidence to have her big sister by her side, it was so sweet!

Gymnastic Leotards (Amazon)

FOUR: We reached 100 DAYS on our Disney countdown, we seriously can't wait to head back to Disney World in a few months. I shared some of the Disney gear I had my eye on a few weeks ago and I'm still watching for a Hanna Anderson sale to grab that adorable dress and swimsuit! Speaking of Disney gear, do you have a favorite Etsy shop to buy personalized Disney gear? I would love to get something monogrammed for the little ladies!

FIVE: On the blog this week I shared the easiest DIY from Isla's birthday party, the donut wall! It was such a fun, functional and tasty piece of decor, you can read that post here: Quick & Easy $10 Donut Wall. I also linked-up with Shay and Erika for their "Let's Look" series and posted about some of our favorite books, you can read that post here: Let's Look... Favorite Reads.

That's a wrap for this week, we have a fairly quiet weekend ahead, which I am VERY happy about! What's on your agenda for the weekend!? Enjoy the time with your family and I hope to see you back here next week, I'll be sharing all of the details from Isla's birthday party, I can't wait to show you more pictures, take care!

Let's Look... Favorite Reads

I'm really hoping to make more time to actually sit down and READ this year, my goal is always to read at least one "adult" book a month, which is a BIG goal for a stay at home Mom of three little ladies, ha! I've decided to share three different categories of my favorite reads: Cookbooks, "Mommy" Encouragement and our favorite Interactive Children's Books. I can't wait to see everyone else's favorite reads in this months link-up with Shay & Erika, be sure to leave a book recommendation or two for me, happy reading!
